Rehearsal Guide: Designed as a choral prayer to be sung at the end of rehearsal, this short piece could also be a wonderful pre-prayer or post-prayer meditation in a worship service. Here's the text:
Bless, O Lord, us your servants who minister in your temple. Grant that what we sing with our lips we may believe with our hearts, and what we believe in our hearts we may show forth in our lives. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
Rehearse the basses and sopranos together first; then run through the alto and bass parts. You can work them together if your choir is pretty confident, or separately if they're a little timid. The parts aren't difficult, but there are some seconds between the alto and tenor parts that they need to deal with.
